Who we are

ROEST is a Norwegian technology company focused on revolutionizing the coffee industry through state-of-the-art roasting solutions. Founded in 2014, the team is dedicated to developing and manufacturing innovative products for the coffee industry, increasing quality in the cup and efficiency in the workflow.

At ROEST, science is not only a tool; it’s a fundamental value ingrained in everything from product development to user software. ROEST’s current portfolio includes three AI-powered sample coffee roasters designed for precision and quality control. ROEST Sample Roasters have received several industry awards and even helped coffee enthusiasts succeed in the World Coffee Championships. In 2025 we are launching a new production roaster for small to medium-sized roasteries. 

Since 2018 we have sold over 2000 roasters to more than 80 countries. What started as a master's thesis over a decade ago has become a fast-growing, open-minded company with an international team dedicated to improving coffee.

Our plan

Our vision is to improve coffee quality through innovation. To achieve this, we are constantly looking at new ways to incorporate existing and new technologies.  

We are developing a new productionroaster for small to medium-sized roasteries. This is, however, just the beginning, as we have some exciting new ideas in the pipeline.

Where we started

Our story started in 2013 when our founders demonstrated the results of a master thesis to Tim Wendelboe and Morten Wennersgaard from Nordic Approach, two significant figures in the coffee scene in Norway. Tim and Morten challenged us to create a better sample roaster for the coffee industry. 

We took on the challenge of making the world's best sample roaster. Our subjective conclusion is that we succeeded but are still dedicated to improving the design and functionality.
