Before starting: the contents of the box

After receiving the ROEST, please inspect the packaging for any damage. If you are in doubt, please contact the shipping company, and document the damage.

These are the items you will find in the box upon arrival:

1. Position the roaster

The roaster must be placed on a flat, hard surface with a minimum of 20 centimeters clearance to all sides and a 40 centimeters clearance above the roaster.

2. Place the filter and the cooling tray

Cooling filter

The cooling filter is stored in the chaff drawer upon receiving the sample roaster.

Place the cooling filter in the designated spot, as shown above.

The cooling tray is either embedded in the top foam of the box or its corresponding storing location inside the pelicase.

Place the cooling tray above the filter.

IMPORTANT: The cooling filter is necessary to catch beans/dirt from entering the cooling fan exit. If it gets damaged, you can buy a new cooling filter here.

You can also buy a new cooling tray by clicking here.

3. Insert the hopper and the trier

USING THE TRIER

The trier can be used at any time during the roasting process. However, removing it from the drum lets cold air enter the drum. This will not immediately modify the roasting process, but the highly sensitive temperature sensors will be affected, especially the environment temperature.

Therefore we recommend using the trier as quickly and little as possible during automatic roasting since the software will give full power to the heating element due to the sudden drop in Air Temperature.

In manual mode, the Air Temperature will also be affected. But this is not critical to the roast as the user decides on the percentage power. However, we also recommend being quick when using the trier in manual mode.

4. Attach the ventilation

Attach the ventilation hose or elbow, preferably directed out through a window. Read more about ventilation options, installation, and safety precautions here.

5. Install the chaff drawer

Place the chaff drawer behind the airtight foam. It is important that this foam is placed correctly.
